This slice of Hwy 41 has been a popular topic of conversation the past few years, and it still is! It took home a pretty big award last week. It won the American Public Works Association - MN Chapter Project of the Year (transportation category).
This award highlights projects that are creative and have a significant positive impact on the community. The Downtown Hwy 41 Project certainly has done that – with a pedestrian tunnel, a regional trail connection, dedicated turn lanes, wider sidewalks, more public parking lots, and wayfinding signage.
Big thanks to our City Council, the Downtown Chaska Business Alliance, Carver County, Minnesota Government, Minnesota Department of Transportation, and everyone who helped make this project a reality. We all worked together to create a safer environment for people driving, walking, and biking in Downtown Chaska.
